Dear Concordia University Students,

On Tuesday, August 4th, the whole world witnessed the travesty of the explosion that occurred in Beirut, Lebanon, which in turn, killed and injured thousands of citizens. The Concordia Student Union would like to take the time to extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of those killed and who have gone missing as a result of this tragic incident.

Moreover, we hope for the safety and protection of Beirut, Lebanon, whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed or otherwise affected by the aftermath of the dangerous chemical explosion and the current state of Lebanon’s unpredictable and tumultuous economic crisis occurring during the COVID-19 pandemic.
