The CSU’s mission is to serve students, defend their rights, and act as their highest representative body at Concordia. Two things are essential: that we are beholden to our membership, and that our funds are used responsibly.

Description of the Role:  The University Examinations Committee is responsible for issuing special exceptions for exams. We are looking for undergraduate students to sit on the committee alongside administrators to represent the student’s perspective.

Specifically, the committee is responsible for four things:

  1. Granting retroactive discontinues for circumstances where a student was unable to write a deferred exam.
  2. Granting retroactive discontinues for circumstances where the student was unable to write a replacement exam.
  3. Granting students permission to write a supplemental exam when extraordinary circumstances arise.
  4. Granting student requests to defer examinations should they exceed the 3-deferral limit.

Eligibility: The position is open to all undergraduate students. Applicants must be available for mandatory committee meetings. Being able to elaborate on a personal reason for joining the committee this an asset
