Description and Scope:
Responsible for assisting the CSU’s IT administrator in implementing solutions, and maintaining end users and some selected server IT resources at the CSU. IT Assistant will also provide level 1 technical support to staff, volunteers, and CSU club members, for the CSU infrastructure, and websites for the CSU’s hardware and software assets. IT Assistant will participate in improving internal processes, procedures, and policies and producing documentation related to those.
Responsibilities:
- As a level 1 technical support agent, the IT Assistant will act as the first line of contact for CSU users, which include staff, volunteers, and members of CSU clubs, over the phone, via email, or in person. This involves answering inquiries, opening tickets, taking ownership of tickets, escalating tickets to the attention of the IT administrator and providing pertinent preliminary investigation data to help with troubleshooting, properly closing tickets by documenting new solutions or attaching existing ones following up with users and offering basic ones troubleshooting that does not require server administrator access. This support is limited to CSU personnel, CSU Website, and CSU hardware and software.
- Document level 1 IT solutions and procedures both the directive of the IT Administrator.
- Assist the IT Administrator with the semester-user-account creation process.
- In the absence of the IT Administrator and upon their request, assist with the following server tasks: perform emergency server recovery reboot operations, monitor server alerts, and logs, and report any anomaly to the IT Administrator.
- Participate in the execution of entry-level technical tasks related to the implementation of CSU projects, service requests, and maintenance operations.
Requirements:
- Completed or ongoing degree in Information Technology or any other related field.
- Able to relay relevant IT-related information in a timely manner.
- Technical Experience with Windows 10macOSOS, Office 365, Windows server 2012.
- Effective communication skills: listens to others and accepts input from supervisors and colleagues. Clearly articulates ideas and thoughts verbally. Accurately prepares written documents that are coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.
- Teamwork: establishes harmonious working relationships with co-workers. Appreciates each colleague’s contribution and values each individual.
- Customer Service: values internal clients and responds to their needs as they arise. Establishes effective working relationships with users. Uses good judgment in what and how to communicate with users.
