Salary/Hourly Rate: $19.77, 8-15 hours a week 

Schedule: Based on the employee’s availability, and within the regular office hours (Monday to Friday, from 10am to 6pm). The duration of each shift is a minimum of three (3) hours.

Description and Scope 

The Concordia Student Union (CSU) is an organization run separately from the University governing bodies at-large, and was created to represent the voice of the undergraduate student body at Concordia.    


A team of elected student executives and 40+ staff work within the Union to represent and advocate for student rights, offer services that make a difference in the lives of the undergraduate student population, and overall aim to have a positive impact on the student life experience at Concordia.

Reporting to the IT Administrator, the Full-Stack PHP/Wordpress Web Developer will be the primary resource to troubleshoot, maintain and improve CSU websites. They will also assist in website project planning, management and implementation. 



– Provide front end and back end Wordpress website development; 

– Write clean and well-structured code; 

– Review and optimize code; 

– Install, configure and update Wordpress modules; 

– Test, troubleshoot and debug websites; 

– Add, replace and/or remove content on a website at the request of stakeholders; 

– Collaborate with the CSU Graphic Designers on the front end of web-related projects; 

– Develop clear specifications for designers; 

– Create responsive web design; 

– Assist in researching, planning and implementing web projects according to the CSU and the IT Administrator’s guidelines, specifications and policies; 

– Create and maintain templates for forms and newsletters in collaboration with stakeholders 

– Develop and maintain documentation as per the directives of the IT Administrator; 

– In the absence of the IT Administrator and upon the request of management, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot the CSU web hosting servers.

Essential requirements 

– Experience in project management; 

– Knowledgeable in HTML, JavaScript, PHP and SQL programing languages; 

– Experience with WordPress; 

– Knowledge of web development cycle, and Agile methodology; 

– Strong software troubleshooting skills; 

– Effective interpersonal communication skills; 

– Ability to perform in a team environment; 

– Must be able to work remotely in a private environment free of interruption 



– Experience with Jotform and Mailchimp. 

– Experience with front-end and back-end development (Bootstrap, HTML, CSS); 

– Experience in working with graphic designers; 

– Two (2) years of experience in website development or Education in Web Development, Software Engineering or any other related IT field; 

– Full-time undergraduate student at Concordia University; 

– Excellent oral and written English with intermediate French skills;  

– Knowledgeable in Vue JS, Inertia JS and Tailwind CSS; 

– Customer service experience; 

– Experience with other Content Management Systems (CMS) platforms; 

– Experience with CPANEL and Amazon Web Services virtualization; 

– App development experience;
