Concordia Student Union

Seats Available:

There are seventeen Council seats open in this by-election.

Breakdown according to Faculty:

  • Six for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences
  • Six for the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Five for the Faculty of Business

Referendum Questions:

“Do you approve the changes made to the CSU Bylaws?”

“Do you agree to increase the CSU General Operations Fee Levy from 2.46$ per credit to 2.71$ per credit (an increase of 25 cents per credit), annually adjusted to the Consumer Price Index of Canada, to be collected from all CSU members? The fee levy will be effective in the Winter of 2023 and billed in accordance with the university tuition billing and refund policy”

“Do you agree to prioritize allocating the amount receivable from the mental health services fee to non-CSU professional services, with first priority going to existing undergraduate fee-levy mental health services, in interest of maximizing the services and care for the Concordia undergraduate student community? (No impact on student fees) (Should this pass, up to $60,000 of the mental health service fee levy will be reserved for the RAWCC).”

“Do you, as an undergraduate student at Concordia, approve of LE FRIGO VERT fee-levy being increased by $0.13 per credit [bringing their fee-levy to $0.46 per credit, that will now be adjusted to the Consumer Price Index of Canada]? The fee would be effective starting with the 2022 winter semester, and completely refundable in accordance with Concordia University tuition and refund policy.”

“Do you as an undergraduate student at Concordia University approve of the Sustainability Action Fund’s fee-levy to be increased $0.25 per credit (bringing the fee levy to $0.50 per credit)? The fee would be effective starting with the 2022 winter semester, and completely refundable in accordance with Concordia University’s tuition and refund policy.”

Nomination Forms will be available on Monday, October 31st.

They will be available online on the CSU’s Website (https://www.csu.qc.ca/resources/elections/), and the CSU Elections Website (https://elections.csu.qc.ca/documents/).

They will be available in paper form at the CSU’s front desks at both campuses.

(Starting at 9:00 AM on Nov. 29th, and ending at 9:00 PM on Dec. 1st)

Information Sessions:

The two mandatory information sessions that all candidates and referendum committees must attend to be informed of the rules of the elections will be held at the Large Lounge on the 7th floor of the Hall Building (in front of the CSU’s office) on:

  1. Wednesday, November 16th at 6:00 PM.
  2. Friday, November 18th at 6:00 PM.

It is imperative that candidates attend an information session.

Public Debate:

Thursday, November 24th at 6:00 PM in the Large Lounge on the 7th floor of the Hall Building.
