THE GENERAL ELECTIONS ARE A CHANCE FOR STUDENTS TO EXERCISE THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT TO VOTE AND DIRECTLY INFLUENCE THE DIRECTION OF THE CSU

Available Offices:

Council:

All thirty Council seats are available in the General Elections.

The breakdown of the seats according to faculty:

  • Faculty of Arts and Science: 13 seats
  • John Molson School of Business: 6 seats
  • Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science: 6 seats
  • Faculty of Fine Arts: 3 seats
  • Independent: 2 seats

Executive:

All eight Executive positions are available in the General Elections.

  • Academic & Advocacy Coordinator
  • External Affairs and Mobilization Coordinator
  • Finance Coordinator
  • General Coordinator
  • Internal Affairs Coordinator
  • Loyola Coordinator
  • Student Life Coordinator
  • Sustainability Coordinator

Senate:

All four Senate seats are available in the General Elections.

There is one seat per faculty.

Nomination, Referendum Committee & Affiliation Forms:

Nomination, Referendum Committee and Affiliation Forms will be available on Monday, February 6th.

They will be available online on the CSU’s Website (https://www.csu.qc.ca/resources/elections/), and the CSU Elections Website (https://elections.csu.qc.ca/documents/).

They will be available in paper form at the CSU’s front desks at both campuses.

Loyola Campus: 4th floor of the Central Building (CC-426)

SGW Campus: 7th floor of the Hall Building (H-711)

Forms must be completed and submitted by February 24th at 6:00 PM.

Duration:

Nomination Phase:

February 6th (starting at 9:00) to February 24th (ending at 18:00)

Campaigning Phase:

March 6th (starting at 9:00) to March 13th (ending at 18:00)

Polling Phase:

March 14th (starting at 9:00) to March 16th (ending at 21:00)

Information Sessions:

The two information sessions will be held in the Large Lounge on the 7th floor of the Hall Building (in front of the CSU’s office) on:

  1. Monday, February 20th at 18:00
  2. Wednesday, February 22nd at 18:00

The information sessions are held for the purpose of informing candidates and referendum committees of the rules of the elections.

It is the responsibility of candidates and referendum committees to ensure they are properly informed of all rules and regulations. Ignorance is not an excuse for breaking the rules.

Wednesday, March 8th at 18:00 in the Large Lounge on the 7th floor of the Hall Building (in front of the CSU’s office)

Loyola Debate:

Monday, March 13th at 18:00 in SP S110
