SUMMARY:Defund the Police 101
DESCRIPTION:Lately\, we’ve seen individuals across the globe call to defund the police. But what exactly does that mean?\nJessica Quijano will be joining us on behalf of the Defund the SPVM coalition to aid in demystifying this concept and will give us some examples as to what this would mean in a Montreal context. She will also explain what work needs to be done in order to achieve this and will provide information about how students can get involved.\nFollowing Jessica’s presentation\, there will be a round table discussion on what a society without police would look like. These workshops primarily aim to provide practical tools and knowledge for students who are interested in contributing to movements and activism on campus and/or in the community.
