DESCRIPTION:We’ve all heard terms like “systemic racism\,” “oppression\,” “marginalized groups\,” “allyship” and “privilege” – but what is systemic oppression\, and what does it mean to be anti-oppressive? How can we foster a safer and more inclusive environment in our student groups\, our events\, and our classrooms? Join us for an anti-oppression 101 workshop facilitated by Akira De Carlos. Topics discussed will range from diversity\, inclusion\, identity\, and anti-black racism\, to systemic oppression\, social justice\, privilege\, and allyship. Join us from 2-4pm on Thursday\, February 18th to learn about activism and strategies\, and how you can make a positive difference in today’s world.
